  6. New drawing: 400 x 300 Gray scale
  7. Stylize> Tiles: 40 tiles, 1% max offset, use Foreground color
  8. [super easy grid, vary the tiles for different grids/ MORE FUN: some other time, try blurring (usually heavy, heavy) the grid then adjust the levels. Cheap circuit boards. (Oh, I hear those gears turning in ye olde noggin')]
  9. Stylize> Diffuse: Darken only
  10. Diffuse Darken (cmd-F)
  11. Inverse (cmd-I)
  12. Diffuse Darken (cmd-F)
  13. Diffuse Darken (cmd-F)
  14. Diffuse Darken (cmd-F)
  15. [breaks the grid up and gives it a hairy texture]
  16. Blur More
  17. Mode> RGB
  18. Adjust> Hue/Saturation (cmd-U)
  19. check colorize
  20. Set--Hue: 50 Saturation:50 Lightness -10 
  21. Or pick your favorite potato bag color.
  22. Click OK (return)
  23. Sharpen more
  24. Super Scratchy!

  26. For a tighter, knottier weave:
  27. Invert (cmd-I)
  28. Hue/Sat (cmd-U)
  29. Set--Hue: 180
  30. Click OK (return)

  33. Note: The last segment is handy for other uses. It basically retains the same hues but the blacks & whites reverse. Try it on photos!
